EUROFLEETS2, a European Union (EU) funded project, announces a call for
proposals for fully funded ship time and embarked marine scientific
equipment in support of research activities within any field of marine
sciences. Fully funded ship time on various European research vessels
(RVs) and European marine equipment will be available between 2014 and
2017.
The main objective of the EUROFLEETS2 project is to develop a
pan-European distributed infrastructure with coordinated access to RVs
and marine equipment. The central aim is to provide access to RVs for
all European scientists and their industrial and international partners
on the conditions of scientific excellence covering all fields of marine
science.
EUROFLEET2 provides scientists with 73 fully funded days of ship time on
eight Global/Ocean class RVs and 127 days of ship time on 14 Regional
class RVs including the use of large equipment such as remotely operated
vehicles and submersibles. In addition, EUROFLEETS2 provides 104 fully
funded days of marine equipment-time to carry out ship-based research
activities within any field of marine science.
