Location: Cambria Hotel Washington, D.C. Convention Center, Duke I room
The Sea Ice Prediction Network–Phase 2 (SIPN2) convened an open meeting on Tuesday, 11 December from 12:30-1:30 p.m. This meeting was open to the public and had 41 participants.
This meeting was organized to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration among members of sea ice research community. A brief overview of the 2018 Arctic sea ice/Sea Ice Outlook season was also provided.
Meeting participants were invited to share a one-minute update about their projects/efforts related to sea ice prediction and/or observations. A PowerPoint template was available, for those who wanted to share information in a slide format, upon request from Betsy Turner-Bogren, ARCUS (betsy [at] arcus.org).

These fast-paced updates included:
- The name of the project or effort,
- A brief summary of the project/effort (in lay-person language),
- A key highlight,
- Any opportunities presenter sought/offered for collaboration with other community members, and
- Contact information for sharing additional information.
Presentation slides were sent to Betsy Turner-Bogren, ARCUS (betsy [at] arcus.org) by Monday, 3 December 2018.
Participant slides were posted online to share with members of sea ice research community — presenters were asked to indicated if they did not want their slides posted.
Participants were asked to RSVP with plans to attend and/or provide a one-minute update. A boxed lunch was provided free of charge to meeting participants who sent an RSVP by Friday, 30 November 2018.
