The SEARCH Sea Ice Outlook organizers announce the availability of the
2009 Sea Ice Outlook Summary Reports. The reports can be accessed at:
http://www.arcus.org/search/seaiceoutlook/2009_outlook/2009_pan-
arctic_summary.php.

The Summary Reports provide an initial retrospective review of the 2009
Sea Ice Outlook at both the pan-arctic and regional scale. These reports
are based on statements from contributors to the 2009 Sea Ice Outlook,
and include preliminary analyses of:
- Factors driving the 2009 minimum;
- Additional data or data products that would be useful for
improving outlooks in the future, including any critical gaps in
field observations;
- Implications, based on this year's results, for the future state
of arctic sea ice.

A series of follow-up activities are planned for the fall and winter to
further explore the 2009 season, lessons learned, and implications for a
2010 Sea Ice Outlook. The next community activity will be an open
meeting at the upcoming American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting.
More details about the AGU meeting and other upcoming events will be
announced via relevant listserves and on the Sea Ice Outlook webpage:
http://www.arcus.org/search/seaiceoutlook/index.php.
