The Arctic Sciences Division (ARC) of the National Science Foundation's
Office of Polar Programs (NSF/OPP) is seeking an Arctic Natural Science
(ANS) Program Director in the Division of Arctic Sciences. This position
will be filled as a Federal Temporary Appointment, as a 1- or 2-year
Visiting Scientist Appointment, or under the terms of the
Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA). For full information, please

The ANS Program supports research in glaciological, atmospheric,
biological, earth and ocean sciences; provides core support for research
in the Arctic; and coordinates arctic research support with the
Directorates for Geosciences, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Social
and Behavioral, and Biological Sciences. Applicants must have earned a
PhD or have equivalent experience in biological sub-disciplines
supported by the program, plus at least six years of research, research
administration, and/or managerial experience pertinent to the position.
In addition, as the portfolio of the ANS Program is broad in
disciplinary terms and is managed by a three-person team, applications
from individuals who have worked effectively in broad interdisciplinary
teams beyond biology are encouraged.
