Clarkson University is seeking junior or sophomore science or
engineering students for the National Science Foundation (NSF) Research
Experience Undergraduate (REU) program in Marine Science and Engineering
and Advanced Material Science in China. The program is scheduled from 27
May - 6 August 2009.
The program is an 11-week program with research based in China. Selected
students will receive a financial support package of approximately
$8,000. Research topics include oceanography, structure engineering,
coastal engineering, material science, environmental science, and
others. All engineering and science majors are eligible.
The summer research projects will be carried out at Dalian University of
Technology located in a port city along the Bohai Sea and the Yellow
Sea, and at Tsinghua University located in Beijing, the capital of
China.
Complete applications must include the REU program application form, at
least two recommendations, official undergraduate transcripts, and a
statement of interest. The application deadline is 5 March 2009.
