OASIS (Ocean-Atmosphere-Sea Ice-Snowpack) is planning a major field
effort at Barrow, Alaska, during the winter/spring of 2009, both on land
at Barrow and on the ice off Deadhorse, Alaska. The effort is planned as
a large, international, multi-disciplinary campaign with the goals
described in the science plan available at:

An Arctic OASIS Field Campaign Planning Meeting will be held during the
American Geophysical Union (AGU) 2007 Fall Meeting on Tuesday, 11
December 2007, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the San Francisco
Marriott Hotel, Sierra A (5th floor).
Meeting participants will discuss the following topics:
a) Funding status of projects and additional funding opportunities for
2009;
b) Additional projects that are needed/wanted for Barrow 2009 that are
so far not present (last chance to get additional people on board);
c) Infrastructure that needs to be addressed by summer 2008;
d) Local planning and logistics; and
e) Announcement of a planning workshop for the Barrow campaign.
The meeting is open to all scientists planning to contribute to this
campaign in 2009 and interested parties.
