The Canada Centre for Remote Sensing of Natural Resources Canada is
accepting applications for the position of Junior Environmental
Scientist. The incumbent will participate in research and development
projects that aim to advance the application of Earth Observation (EO)
data and ancillary geospatial information for environmental surface
monitoring, particularly in the Arctic. The incumbent will be based at
the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS) within the Earth Sciences
Sector (ESS) of Natural Resources Canada. As part of a team, the
incumbent will assist in delivering on the outputs and outcomes defined
in ESS Programs and contribute to activities in accordance with the
strategic objectives of CCRS. The incumbent is expected to have
experience in working with optical and radar remote sensing data, the
use of remote sensing and GIS software, and in conducting fieldwork in
remote areas.
Applicants must have a degree from a recognized university with
acceptable specialization in biology, Earth sciences, engineering,
geography, mathematics, physics, remote sensing, or some other science
relevant to the position. Preference will be given to Canadian citizens.
