The Centre for Earth Observation Science (http://www.umanitoba.ca/ceos) at the University of Manitoba invites applications for two positions at the Research Associate level in Arctic marine system processes and glacier-marine coupling. These full-time positions will be located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct independent research with the use of remote sensing tools in field work and in mesocosms;
- Lead and supervise the work of graduate students, research scientists, and faculty members in the use of remote sensing tools in field work;
- Possession of expertise and aptitude with electronic instruments, in situ or satellite remote sensing data, and airborne or ocean-going drones; and
- Potential to publish in peer reviewed literature.
Successful candidates must hold a doctoral degree or have a Master’s degree with experience in one or more of the following fields: environmental science, engineering, physical geography, geology, science, or agriculture.
