The Wilson Center’s Polar Institute, in partnership with Iceland’s Stefansson Arctic Institute and the Institute of Arctic Studies at Dartmouth College, invite registration for the 2020 Stefansson Memorial Lecture, Seawomen of Iceland. This webinar will take place today, 1 December 2020 from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. EST.
The lecture will explore the importance of a gendered perspective toward fisheries policy and practices in Iceland and the wider Arctic. The keynote lecture will feature professor and author Dr. Margaret Willson and commemorate the life and work of Vilhjálmur Stefansson, famed 20th century Arctic explorer, anthropologist, author, and policy advisor. The lecture will be followed by an expert panel discussion.
