Applicants should have previous work and interest in research on the well-being of Indigenous children, youth, and families; experience with data analysis and project management; strong writing and communication skills; and a commitment to equity in research and the workplace. Experience managing partner relationships (e.g., with Indigenous Tribal Nations, communities, and organizations) is preferred.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Work on multiple research and evaluation projects simultaneously as a task leader or project manager;
  • Support outreach and engagement of partners;
  • Develop protocols for qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed-methods data collection;
  • Manage and contribute to data collection;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement data management and analytic plans;
  • Work both independently and as part of a team to write substantive reports, briefs, blogs, memos, academic articles, and other publications;
  • Participate in preparation of presentations to funders and partners;
  • Assist with the development of funding proposals; and
  • Participate in organizational administrative activities, such as attending staff meetings, serving on hiring committees, and training and/or supervising research assistants.

Required qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree (or Bachelor’s plus four to five years relevant experience) in public policy, research methods, program evaluation, social work, public health, psychology, child development, sociology, education, Indigenous studies, or a related field. To be considered as a Senior Analyst, at least two years of post-Master's (or equivalent) experience demonstrating increased responsibility, independence, and expertise in the qualifications;
  • Experience in research, evaluation, or training and technical assistance projects focused on the well-being of Indigenous persons in the U.S., especially children, youth, and families;
  • Knowledge of and experience with participatory research methods and/or Indigenous methodologies;
  • Strong task/project management and organizational skills, including being a critical thinker, problem-solver, and effective communicator to promote a collaborative working environment;
  • Experience with data collection (e.g., surveys, interviews, focus groups) and data management;
  • Experience analyzing data with qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, Dedoose) or a combination of qualitative and quantitative (e.g., SAS, R, Stata) software;
  • Strong oral and writing skills, including the ability to clearly communicate complex information for general audiences;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including both taking and providing direction as needed; and
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
