The Arctic Ecology Research program at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for funded PhD positions open for students to start as early as Spring 2025.
Candidates should have a BS or MS in ecology, biology, environmental science, or related fields. Ideal candidates will have some previous research experience in field ecology, a strong work ethic, be able to work independently and with a field crew. Qualified applicants are encouraged to reach out to faculty directly before applying. Faculty are more than willing to answer questions about the University, the program, and their own research labs and interests.

- Craig Tweedie – Terrestrial Ecosystem Ecology (ctweedie [at] utep.edu)
Admitted applicants will be supported by a combination of graduate assistantships and teaching assistantships and include tuition remission for qualified applicants. The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is a Carnegie R1 research university at the heart of the U.S.-Mexico border region.
