Understanding Arctic Change Workshop
29 September–1 October 2010
Grand Hyatt Seattle
Seattle, Washington
Final white paper: https://www.arcus.org/files/page/documents/19092/understandingchangerep…
The National Science Foundation Division of Arctic Sciences funded this workshop to develop a white paper that:
(1) Identifies key unknowns and key science questions for understanding arctic system change, and
(2) Identifies the next steps in synthesis activities, methodologies, mechanisms, and approaches to address the identified key science questions.
The need for this white paper emerged from discussions within the multi-agency SEARCH program and the ARCSS program. These groups recognized a need for a guiding document from the science community on how to accelerate our understanding of the changing arctic system through scientific and organizational activities.
After the workshop, the white paper was sent for broad community review and input.
The workshop agenda and participant list can be found through the links at the top of the page.
